April 6, 2026 at 12:00 AM UTC
Mission Overview
The first crewed mission of NASA’s Artemis program, Artemis II will send four astronauts on a trajectory around the Moon and back to Earth, testing the Space Launch System and Orion spacecraft. This 10-day mission will demonstrate that NASA can safely fly a crew to lunar distances and bring them home. The crew includes Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, and Mission Specialists Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen. Their journey will take them thousands of miles beyond the Moon, further than any human has traveled since the Apollo era, paving the way for the landing mission that follows.
